The purpose of this role is to ensure that Novartis has the talent, leadership, and skills to deliver on the aim of reimagining medicine. The role maximizes the impact of the talent management across Novartis by building from the global early career framework and practices to create a sustainable pipeline of early in career talent who fuel Novartis long-term growth.

Critical for success is to stay highly connected to the Talent & Development Head, IM Germany. Close collaboration with business leaders and other team members within P&O, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition and Learning is critical for success. The successful incumbent will support key partners engaging external organizations, strategic partners, and events that align to early career talent attraction and engagement strategies.

About the Role

Key responsibilities:

General

  • Work closely with the Talent & Development Head, IM Germany to support the early career strategic vision and collaborate with the INT Early Career team to align on full cycle planning of early career initiatives and ensure inclusion and diversity initiatives are embedded into the strategy for aligning and identifying core schools.
  • Review and consolidate the multitude of existing early career programs in the prioritized skill areas
  • Partners with the hiring manager and marketing / communications team to write a high-impact, creative job adverts in line with corporate Novartis branding, utilizing the company’s employee value propositions and any key functional messages which increases candidate attraction

Apprenticeship & Dual Students

  • Lead and organize the full cycle of apprenticeship and dual student management. This includes everything from the initial hiring process to the final placement of our apprentices and dual students. Ensure that Novartis are a reliable point of contact for all our apprentices and dual students, providing them with the support and guidance they need to succeed.
  • Strategically position our Apprenticeship and Dual Student Program by aligning it closely with our Talent & Development (T&D) initiatives and the broader business objectives. Ensure that the program not only meets the needs of our apprentices but also contributes to the overall success of our organization.

Trainee program

  • Foster strong business relationships to identify the capabilities needed to propel our organization forward. By understanding these needs, create a robust strategy that aligns perfectly with the objectives of our Trainee program. This strategy should not only serve our needs but also ensure that the trainees are placed in the right functions where they can thrive and contribute significantly.
  • Continually improve our Trainee program, in close alignment with the INT Early Career team. This collaboration helps to develop and refine the program further, ensuring it remains relevant and effective in nurturing the future leaders of our organization.

University relationships

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with target universities, university organizations, and student clubs and act as point of contact for college administrators and career center leadership.
  • Understand the landscape of Germany university relations, identify common skill needs based on data, and design and execute an approach to elevate few institutions of high, international relevance to become strategic partners

What you bring to the role:

  • Degree from an accredited university in business administration, human resources, marketing, strategy. Ideally a MSc in Organizational Psychology
  • Completed certification as "IHK Aubildungsbeauftragter"
  • Experience in executing Early Career interventions in a global matrix organization. Additional experience in Talent Management and Talent Acquisition desired
  • Creative and driven to develop innovative early career strategies and continuous process improvement to ensure a positive candidate experience from first-touch to post-program
  • Strong proficiency in data management and tracking, and insights
  • Proficiency in English and German (written and spoken)
